 Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease caused by a bacteria, the bacteria known as Neisseria Gonorrhoeae is capable of affecting both male and female leaving no one exempted from it's wrath.     Gonorrhea also called clap as earlier said is an STD, which means it is transmitted through sexual intercourse be it anal,vaginal or even anal. Being caused by a bacteria, which we know has a very high survival rate, the bacteria is able to spread to other parts of the human system where it tends to cause complications that are not actually funny. To elaborate on the previous view, the gonorrhea bacteria is capable of moving to the Eyes where it causes eye pain, as well as reduce the sensitivity of the eyes to light, and as well lead to the eventual pus-like discharge from the eyes. It could as well spread to the Rectum, over there, it could cause itching, as well as cause discharge of pus-like substances from the rectum, the throat is as well not exempted as sore throat and swollen lymo nodes are souvenirs the gonorrhea bacteria brings to it as well. 

SYMPTOMS

  4. White/green/yellow/beige pus-like discharge from the penis
  5. Sore throat

FEMALE
  1.  pain in the abdomen and pelvic
  2. pain during intercourse
  3. painful urination
  4. increase in the number of times of urination
  5. vaginal bleeding
  6. Spotting (heavier periods)

COMPLICATIONS
   Definitely one very dangerous part of gonorrhea, is it's deadly side complications that have quite devastating effects. Some of them are outlined below;
  1. infertility in women, this is so as the bacteria causes pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) when it gets to the fallopian tube and uterus, and this could lead to infertility in women.
  2. Infertility in men, the bacteria causes Epididymitis, a situation whereby the epididymis is inflamed,though this could be treated but if left untreated would as well lead to infertility in men.
  3. Gonorrhea could be transferred from an infected pregnant woman to her child, in which case might result to blindness of the child, no parent would love to have a blind child I guess.as well as sores on the scalp of the child.

PREVENTION
  As the saying goes, prevention is better than cure, it is actually better to prevent it than first get to suffer from it's complications before then looking for a cure. Some preventive techniques are outlined below;
  1. Abstinence from sex, this is the most effective ways to prevent gonorrhea
  2. Use of condoms for anal and vaginal sex, use of dental dams for oral sex

TREATMENT
  Since it is caused by a bacteria, antibiotics would be best to treat it, there are drugs that could actually cure it, and these includes a shot of ceftriaxone and an oral medication of azithromyan.  Infected persons should abstain from unprotected sex for a week after completing the treatment.
